We just want to have fun….

Nicholas Brown is a seriously cool guy, a petrol head through and through.

His story is kind of familiar to many of us. Nicholas has been into cars and bikes forever.

He’s a 23 year old guy from Baltimore USA who’s current ride is this slammed 1992 Nissan 240SX.

No stranger to modifying cars, he has an enviable track record, having kicked his motoring history off with a VW Bora show car at the tender age of just 18.

This S13 was a spur of the moment purchase that came to Nicholas after a late night cross state drive and has been constantly evolving since.

This is a seriously hard driven 240SX and if you’ve seen it on the road, it was probably going sideways.

Nicholas earned his spurs working in a local garage where, when he wasn’t working on customers cars, he was burning the midnight oil creating his own ride.

His impressive skills don’t stop there. As well as being talented with the spanners, Nicholas graduated from college with a degree in film/video.The ride.

Where do we start? This 240SX is a well sorted tool. It sits low and rides hard thanks to Emusa coilovers, god speed front & rear control arms and circuit sports inner & outer tie rods.

Nicholas’s 240SX runs the 2.4L n/a KA24DE fitted to the USA model S14, which benefits from a polished and ported head, high capacity aluminium radiator, lightweight OBX pulleys and it’s bolted together with ARP head studs. To make sure he doesn’t waste any of the hard earned BHP, air conditioning and power steering have been deleted. Oh, and there’s a turbo upgrade planned.Look out Baltimore.

The stripped out, race car interior in this street driven drift car is an untamed, focused place.

The 8 point cage is Nicholas’s own work which helps makes a really rigid shell.

Distance

Driver and passenger are secured in the Bride low max racing seats by 4 point harnesses.Inside there’s a hydraulic hand brake conversion, Isis short shifter and dramatic and unique petrol pump handle gear lever. To compliment the race car theme there’s a quick release steering wheel.

This 240 stops as well as it goes thanks to Evo 8 Brembo callipers with custom adaptors, biting hard on to drilled and vented discs.

I like a nice rear end and this 240 is no exception. Nicholas has fitted a viscous LSD from a 300ZX with Infinity J30 drive shafts.

Roll cage

On the outside, Nicholas has kept it straight and clean. The rear wing has been removed and 180SX side skirts added.

This 240 rolls on some hard core XXR 536 rims 17×9 fronts wrapped in 205/40/17 boots  and 17×10 out back with 215/45/17 boots to give the car a hard, stretched and tucked look under those rolled arches.

Interior

I really like Nicholas and his car but there’s so much more to this. What I like most is what he believes in, what they represent.

A car is just a car without it’s owner. Nicholas drives this car hard. He’s no pro drifter, he’s a regular Joe like you and me. He’s got a tight group of friends who drive the shit out of their cars.

Ramp

They’ve started their own car club called ‘insane JDM syndicate’. Nicholas sums up the club’s ethos so eloquently I couldn’t have put it better myself:

“Our premise is to have a tight knit community of Japanese made cars with a sense of pride and unity, to help one another and share the truest passion of being in the automotive scene.”

Man that’s cool.

Thanks Nicholas, an awesome guy with talent and vision
